Last week there was a massive frenzy to play Amazon’s new MMORPG New World, the game’s makers assured players that no matter which of the game’s busy servers they chose, free transfers would be forthcoming. Not only have the free server transfers been postponed, but the developers have also ruled out cross-realm server transfers, which were previously promised.

Developers informed players in a “Server Transfer update” posted on the New World forums on Friday that the free transfer tokens that were intended to be delivered this week will be postponed. The transfer process, according to the post, isn’t quite ready to be rolled out.

To quote the official source:

During our testing, we uncovered some edge cases where the transfer experience does not meet our standards for its release. This means that we will be taking some extra time to get these issues resolved before we feel comfortable giving everyone their free server transfer token.

So, if you already have a character in one location and want to play with your pals in another, you’ll have to create a new one. You’ll have to re-harvest all of the crops, re-cut all of the trees, re-mine all of the minerals, and re-complete all of the quests.
